Longhorns fans have been waiting for a definitive update on plans for 2020 home games, with the season fewer than 50 days away.
In an email to season ticket holders, Texas Longhorns officials laid out plans to limit seating at home games to 50 percent capacity.
Athletic director Chris Del Conte sent the news to ticket holders.
Current season ticket holders will have a spot in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium this season, or they can opt out without any penalty.
As of current plans, the maximum available seating will be roughly 50,000.
Texas is set to kick off the season against South Florida on Sept. 5.
